I. Introduction
These days, environmental problems are very important issues in our global world. The problems are trans-national, so we need to know the seriousness of these problems. Especially, desertification is big problems because it is strongly linked to global food security. It is related to our life. Therefore we need to recognize the seriousness of desertification and be awake of that problem.
First, we need to know what desertification is. Desertification occurs when productive land is turned into nonproductive land. Desertification means the land is useless anymore. It caused by deforestation, overgrazing, overexploitation, poor irrigation practices, over cultivation, inadequate technology and overpopulation. From 1964 to 2005, the number of migrants from Kenya to Nairobi increases 800%.
In 2007, Australia suffered continuous drought, and it caused 2008 Global Food Crisis.
