1. Case Complete Atrioventricular Block

Complete Atrioventricular Block, commonly referred to as third-degree AV block, is a condition characterized by a complete failure of electrical conduction between the atria and ventricles of the heart. This results in a disconnection between the atrial and ventricular activities. In a healthy heart, the electrical impulses generated in the sinoatrial (SA) node are transmitted through the atrioventricular (AV) node to the ventricles, leading to coordinated contractions. However, in complete AV block, this communication is disrupted, causing the atria and ventricles to operate independently. The etiologies of complete AV block are varied and can include congenital abnormalities, degenerative changes associated with aging, inflammatory conditions such as myocarditis, structural heart disease, and ischemia or infarction affecting the conduction system.
