Why does Buddha’s Birthday have no substitute holiday Do you know the fact there is specific standard for substitute holidays When government introduced the system, they expressed clearly about a standard. To put it simply, the system is only applied to New Year’s Day, Children’s day and Korean Thanksgiving Day. However, because of this criterion, most of the people wonder why Buddha’s Birthday cannot be applied to substitute holidays. In regard to this, some people said the government gave priority to Children’s Day ahead of Buddha’s Birthday. Furthermore, they insisted that the state ignored Buddhism have coexisted with our history and tradition. In spite of this backlash, the government applied to equivalent principle and Buddha’s Birthday could not come under substitute holiday in the end.
