존 키츠(John keats) 작품 소개

영국에서 태어난 낭만주의 서정시인이다. 짧은 생애 동안 생생한 imagery, 뛰어난 감각적 매력, 고전적 전설을 통한 철학적 표현을 담은 시를 썼다. Lord Byron, Shelley와 더불어 낭만파의 대표적인 시인이다. 의학을 공부하다 그리이스, 로마의 고전, Shakespeare, Spencer의 작품에 매료되어 시에 입문하여 Endymion, La Belle Dame sans Merci, Ode on Melancholy, Ode to a Nightingale, Ode on a Grecian Urn, The Eve of St. Agnes, Hyperion 등의 시를 썼다. 25세의 나이로 로마에서 폐결핵으로 요양 중 죽었다. 시의 거장이 몰락하는 것이지만 짧은 생에 동안에 그가 시계에 미친 영향은 대단하였다.
