본문/내용
본 연구에서는 고령화에 따른 세대 차와 세대갈등을 극복하기 위한 세대통합의 중요성을 인식하고, 세대통합의 효과적인 수단으로서 세대공동체 레크리에이션의 가능성을 제안하고, 그 효과를 검증해 보고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 여성노인 17명과 8세에서 9세 사이의 아동 17명 등 총 34명으로 구성된 세대공동체에 대하여 12주의 세대공동체 레크리에이션을 실시하고, 그 효과를 사전-사후 태도변화를 통하여 조사하였다.
그 결과, 세대공동체 레크리에이션 프로그램 참여를 통하여 어린이와 노인의 상대 세대에 대한 태도와 노인의 자신에 대한 태도가 긍정적으로 변화하였으며, 프로그램 참여 이외의 다른 어떤 변인들도 어린이나 노인의 상대 세대와 자신에 대한 태도에 영향을 주지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 어린이와 노인의 상대 세대에 대한 태도 개선에 세대공동체 레크리에이션 프로그램이 중요한 효과를 미칠 수 있을 뿐 아니라, 세대공동체 레크리에이션 프로그램을 통하여 노인의 자기 인식도 긍정적으로 변화될 수 있음을 입증하였다.
