Government figures show that Koreans will have an improved social welfare system this year with increased state funding. The 2004 national budget set at 118 trillion won, up 5 percent from last year, allocated 12 trillion won for social welfare, 9 percent higher than spending last year. The increase is the highest among all areas of the administration.
정부는 한국인들은 올해 정부투자의 증가로 향상된 사회복지시스템을 누릴 것이라고 하였다. 지난해보다 5%증가된 118조원으로 책정된 2004년 국가 예산안에서는 지난해 사용액보다 9%증가한 12조원을 사회복지에 할당하였다. 이번 증액은 모든 정책부문에서 가장 높은 것이다.
