2) 협동학습과 관련변인
협동학습과 관련된 변인들은 인지적 변인, 메타적 변인, 사회/정서적 변인 등 매우 다양하다. 협동학습과 관련이 있는 변인 중 본 연구와 관계있는 변인 즉, 구조화된 협동학습전략과 보상을 중심으로 살펴보면 다음과 같다.
가. 구조화된 협동학습전략(Structured Cooperative Learning Strategies)
구조화된 협동학습전략은 지금까지 개발되어 온 다양한 협동학습전략 모형에 기초한 구체적이고 체계적인 하나의 협동학습전략이다. 즉, 협동적인 상호작용과 인지적인 학습전략을 연합한 학습전략이라고 할 수 있다(Lambiotte et al., 1987). 학습하는 방법에 대한 학습전략을 가르친다는 것은 곧 학습자에게 이용 가능한 학습기술을 제공함으로써 학습자의 심리적, 인지적 사고과정을 변화시킬 수 있다. 특히 학습활동을 수행하는 동안에 특수한 학습전략을 활용하도록 하는 일은 학업성취도를 증진시킬 수 있도록 정보처리 능력을 최대화시키는데 그 의의가 있다(박분희, 1995).
구조화된 협동학습전략에서 사용되는 구조화 전략은 인지적 기억과정을 촉진시키기 위해 고안된 학습전략구조라고 할 수 있으며 구조화 전략 내에 정보의 선택, 획득, 구성, 통합의 요소가 모두 포함되어 있다(박분희, 1995). 구조화된 협동학습 전략은 각본(script)의 유무와 역할의 규정여부에 따라 구조화된 협동학습과 비구조화된 협동학습으로 나뉜다. 학자에 따라 구조화 협동학습을 체계적인 학습 또는 각본에 의한 학습이라고 하며, 비구조화된 협동학습을 비체계적인 학습 또는 각본에 의하지 않는 학습이라고 한다(Baker, 1979; Markman, 1979; Dansereau et al., 1979; Spurlin et al., 1984; 정명화,1992).
