◦ 국가 SDTS 수치지도 자료형식 규약 수립
국가 SDTS 수치지도 자료형식을 정의한 후 설정된 방향과 목표를 토대로 구체적인 SDTS 수치지도 자료형식이 규약되어야 한다. 이는 단순히 미국에서 사용하는 SDTS 수치지도 자료형식을 한글화를 통한 이해차원을 떠나서, 실제적으로 국내에서 사용되고 규정되어야 하는 역할을 바탕으로 하여 구체적이고 세부적인 규약이 수립되어야 한다. 예를 들어 미국에서 사용되고 있는 SDTS 수치지도 자료형식 규약은 기본적인 모델이나 아키텍쳐 상에서 근본적인 차이를 보이고 있지는 않으나 내용 측면에서는 세심한 주의가 필요하다. 예를 들어 사용되는 좌표체계 정의가 상이하기 때문에 국내에서 사용 가능한 좌표체계 규정이 필요하다. 또한 공간, 속성용어의 표준화를 통한 자료 사전 구축부분도 실제 국내 구체적인 공간현상을 표현하기에는 문화적, 지형적 차별성이 존재하기 때문에 이들에 대한 재정의를 통한 규약 수립이 요구된다. 또한 자료 질, 메타 정보 등의 부분들에 있어서도 세분화 또는 간략화 등의 재정의 등이 필요하다. 이러한 작업은 가능한 한 합리적이고 객관적인 토대 하에서 수행되는 것이 바람직하…(생략)
