여기서 심정(心情)은 mind를 뜻하는 심(心)과 affection을 뜻하는 정(情)의 합성어로서 상대에 대한 ‘felt mind’와 이와 연계된 ‘emotion’을 말한다. 보통 felt mind는 자신과 무관한 사람에 대해서 보다는 우리성-정관계나 친밀관계에 있는 사람에 대해서 잘 나타난다. 제 3자 관계에서는 행동을 중심으로 한 immediate한 이해관계가 상호작용과 관계 맺음의 주요한 관심사가 되나 우리성-정관계에서는 immediate한 이해관계보다는 장기적인 관계 맥락과 행위의 이면에 있는 마음이 더욱 중요한 관심사가 되므로 felt mind인 심정경험과 심정 교류가 활성화된다(Choi & Kim, 1997). 우리성-정관계에 있는 당사자들 간의 상호작용에서 심정이 민감하게 활성화되는 context는 상대의 언행이 기존의 우리성관계와 관련하여 중요한 의미나 암시성을 갖는 것으로 느껴지거나 해석될 때이다. 한국인에게는 우리성-정관계의 형성이 매우 중요하기 때문에 제 3자보다는 가까운 사람의 행동과 마음에 더욱 민감하며, 특히 상대의 행동이 자신이 상대에 대해 느끼는 정이나 우리성의 정도에 못 미치는 행동을 했을 때, 이 행동을 자신과 상대와의 관계에 비추어 reflect해 보는 관계-행동 재조명 활동이 활성화된다. 이때 결과적으로 느껴지는 자신의 felt mind가 곧 심정이다. 이렇게 느껴진 마음은 다시 상대의 자신에 대한 우리성-정마음의 정도를 재해석하는 단서가 된다. 우리성-정관…
