돈육 수급현황과 전망
한국의 국민 1인당 육류소비량 증가추세를 보면 1980년도 육류전체소비량 11.3kg에서 1995년에는 27.4kg로서 142%가 증가하였으며 그중 돈육소비량은 6.3kg에서 14.7kg로서 133%가 증가하였다. 돈육공급을 위한 돼지 사육두수와 돈육생산수급을 다음표와 같이 1993년까지는 100% 자급했으나 94년부터는 수입과 수출을 병행하고 있다. UR대책을 위한 정부의 양돈사업육성계획은 <표 2>와 같이 년도별 국내생산량에 따라 호당 800두 이상 사육하는 농가를 육성하여 2000년에는 돈육수요량 727천톤중 국내 생산량 654천톤 생산을 위해서는 5,876천두의 돼지 사육두수를 확보계획이며 그중 70%는 전업양돈농가가 사육할 수 있도록 계획 되어 있다.
