국문초록
우리 정부는 한국 자산운용기업을 글로벌 화 하는 방안으로 한국투자공사를 설립하였으며, 세계 유수의 50대 자산운용기업 아시아지역본부 유치 등 자산운용 업을 적극 육성하고 있다. 이는 자산운용시장이 기반이 되어 건전하게 육성돼야 주식, 채권, 파생 상품, 외환 등 여타 자본시장 발전도 용이해진다는 구상이다. 지난 1969년 증권투자신탁제도가 도입된 후 국내 자산운용 산업이 국가의 성장 동력 산업으로서 지금처럼 그중요성이 부각된 적은 없었다. 그러나 이처럼 원대한 정책적 역할을 부여받은 국내 자산운용 산업의 현주소는 사실 초라하기 짝이 없다. 대다수자산운용사가 장기적 발전전략보다는 당장 생존 자체를 걱정해야 할 정도로 매우 어려움에 처해있는 실정이다.
