The beginning of cross cultural psychology: trying to find the characteristics of the West by studying various cultures, and psychological recognition principles which universally affect human beings through this process.
Indigenous psychology: Psychologists from the Third-World applied indigenous psychology. It consisted in analyzing psychological phenomenon ¡°from the inside¡±, by taking the standpoint of the analyzed sample.
Richard E. Nisbett: He suggested that the former assumption stating that the cognitive process was similar no matter the culture might be wrong. Consequently, due to differences in the cognitive process, a cultural universality might not exist.

We live in age of globalization It may be interesting to see how Asian people changed (or not) their way of thinking after an experience in the West, and vice-versa.
