3.4. 재음절화
§3.2에서 음절화는 ω에 의해 제한된다고 결론지었다. 그러나, 운율어 1의 마지막 자음이 모음으로 시작하는 운율어 2의 두음에 재음절화되어 실현된다: ...VC)ω1 ω2(V... --> ...V)ω1 ω2(CV... 이것은 범어적으로 단어경계에서 두음이 없는 음절을 피하려는 경향을 반영한 것이고(Kenstowicz 1994), 두음최대법칙이 후어휘부에서 다시 일어난 것이다. 재음절화의 과정에서 선행하는 어말 자음 /l/은 후행어의 두음에서 [r]로 실현된다. 이것은 l-약화현상이다. 그러므로, 음절구조는 재음절화와 관련이 있다. 이 절에서는 첫째, 재음절화가 운율구(φ)안에서 제한되는 지 아닌 지를 조사하고자 한다. 둘째, lexmax[ 세팅에 의해서 도출된 φ는 때때로 실지 발음과 일치하지 않는다. 따라서 lexmax[세팅을 보충하는 φ-재구조화(φ-restructuring)가 필요하다.φ-재구조화는 운율구조의 중량(prosodic constituent heaviness) 에 민감하다.
먼저 운율어 단계에서 일어나는 재음절화를 살펴보자. 재음절화는 (46)-(48)에서 보듯이 모든 어휘층위에서 일어난다. 말음중화현상을 거친 자음은 운율어경계에서 재음절화를 거친다. (46.ㄹ)에서…(생략)
