본문/내용
세포분열 과정에서 관찰되는 염색체(chromosome = chromo;color, some;body)는 염기성 색소에 짙게 염색되는 구조물로서 단백질의 골격구조에 DNA를 포함하고 있다. DNA의 분절은 유전단위인 유전자로 구성되는데 사람의 세포에는 약 3만개의 유전자가 있다. 유전자는 염색체에 선상으로 배열되어 좌위(locus)라고 하는 정확한 위치를 갖는다. 이들 좌위는 체세포에 있는 2개의 상동염색체의 동일한 위치에 있게 마련인데, 이를 대립인자(allele, allelomorph)라 하여 그 대립인자가 질이나 양적으로 같으면 동형접합(homozygous), 다를 경우에는 이형접합(heterozygous)이라 한다. 그리고 동일한 염색체에도 위치를 달리하는 많은 유전자를 포함하는데 이들 동일한 염색체에 위치하는 유전자들을 연관(linkage)한다고 하며, 생화학적으로 구성을 달리한다.
유전학적으로 어떤 형질을 나타낼 때는 유전형(genotype)과 표현형(phenotype)으로 표시하는데, 유전형은 유전자의 구성을 나타내고, 표현형은 유전자가 발현하는 구조적, 생화학적 또는 생리적인 표현실체를 말한다. 그래서 세포유전학(cytogenetics)은 염색체의 현미경적 현상을 관찰하여 세포분열 과정에 각 개체…(생략)
