본문/내용
1. 연구목적 (필요성)
본 연구는 제3세계의 경제위기가 정치발전 즉 민주주의의 발달이나 퇴보에 미치는 영향에 관하여 한국, 필리핀, 칠레, 인도를 사례 연구지로 선정하여 조사할 것이다. 제3세계의 경제발전에 관한 연구가 경제학자들이나 국제경제기구의 종사자들의 독점적인 관심사를 떠나서 정치학을 비롯한 일반 사회과학계의 핵심적인 연구 주제로 떠오르게 된 이유는, 경제발전을 위한 사회적 그리고 정치적 조건으로써 비민주적인 정치운영이나 사회통제의 반복이 여러 발전국가에서 목격되기 때문이다. 경제성장을 정당성 확보의 수단으로 선택한 권위주의 정부는 강압적인 경제운용을 하게되고 종국에는 민중의 사회적 불만이 점차 퇴적되고 정치화되어 대규모적인 국가와 시민사회의 충돌이 자주 발생하였다.제3세계의 민주화 궤적을 추적하면은 어떤 기념비적인 민중항쟁이나 시민사회운동이 민주화를 항한 대전환점을 제시하는 경우가 많음을 발견할 수 있다. 본 연구는 시민항쟁-국가와의 직접적인 정치적 대결에 초점을 맟추??보다는 이러한 대결을 본질적으로 유발한 구조적인 정치경제적 배경을 \찿아보려 한다. 구체적으로는 선정된 4국…(생략)
