끝으로 영국사회가 갖는 농촌환경에 대한 사회적인식이 한국사회의 인식과는 대조적인 결과를 보이고 있다. 본 연구의 결과는 농촌환경에 대한 영국인들의 사회적인 인식은 한마디로 우려할만한 수준도 아니고 그렇다고 낙관하는 수준도 아니다. 전문가의 의견을 빌리면 다음과 같다. 아마 영국인들 스스로가 한국의 농촌환경에 대하에 우월감 비슷한 것을 갖고 있을지도 모른다는 것이다. 이러한 점을 고려한다면, 영국의 농촌도 소홀히할수 없는 환경문제들을 안고 있다고 전문가들은 인식하고 있는데 일반인들은 덜 민감하게 인식하고 있다는 의미일 것이다. 관련 전문가들에게 있어서는 20 C. 후반들어서 가장중요한 사회적인 관심을 끄는 이슈(issues)가운데 하나가 바로 농촌문제로 21 C. 의 농촌이 가야할 방향을 설정하는 것이였다(Gilg. 1995,).
끝으로 영국사회는 농촌의 환경에 대하여 한국사회가 인식하는 만큼 크게 우려하는 수준도 아니고 그렇다고 개선되였다고 인식하는 수준이 아닌 지역에 따라서 다소간 있을수 있는 수준이다. 그러나 한국의 경우와는 달리 농촌지역주민들은 도시지역주민들보다 토양오염이 점차적으로 줄어들고 있으며 야생동식물…(생략)
